Ces calendriers me suivent depuis 10 ans. Ils sont très beaux et décorent parfaitement. très belle idée cadeau ! on peut ensuite en faire des cadres.
Le plus beau et le plus sympa des calendrier d'aujourd'hui. C'est un plaisir de découvrir chaque mois un nouveau paysage.
I've been getting John Sloane's "Country Seasons" calendar for many years. It used to be labelled "John Sloane's Four Season's Calendar", but apparently some publisher owned the "Four Seasons" trademark and replaced his with what is, in my view, substantially inferior artwork. Now, John Sloane publishes his Country Seasons Calendar. Art is, of course, viewed and enjoyed through the eye of the beholder. John Sloane paints what I call "nostalgic, idealized realism." He's very good at it! You can feel the cold, the heat, the humidity. You can smell the leaves, flowers, hay, and animals. More importantly, you want to be there - in those places at that time; well, at least I do. I could be wrong, but I believe the paintings are set in rural Illinois. I grew up in Ohio which, to me, looks almost identical. I've even hung my John Sloane favorites in various locations throughout my house - I like them that much. I really feel the places he creates.Accept no substitutes! There are other "Four Seasons" calendars out there, but John Sloane's was the original and by far the best.
I never had a John Sloane Calendar but purchased it simply because I needed a wall calendar, the price was within the price range I wanted to spend and the pictures from what I could tell on Amazon's product page looked nice. So I ordered it. What arrived was the most beautiful, high quality calender I ever saw. The pages are thick, the numbers are large and the pictures are BEAUTIFUL. I love the fact that the hole for hanging was NOT punched through the pictures but far enough from the frame of the pictures to allow for framing and hanging the art if you choose to. As I said, this calender is beautiful and of high quality. Everything from the thick, nicely textured pages to the little metal ring that lines the hole to hang it so it doesn't tear. I highly recommend this calender.
I LOVE John Sloane's artistic work, and save all the pictures from the calendars year after year. It brings a bit of the beautiful countryside into my kitchen where the calendar hangs. It brings back memories of an America that few enjoy any more, nor even knew existed. I love seeing the pictures, remembering an America of the past, and collecting the art work.
The calendar is beautiful. I would give it 5 stars for the pictures alone, but when I opened it up to hang it on the wall, several of the pages came loose. The staples weren't in the middle of the folded part of the calendar which caused several of the pages to rip away from the staples when I fully opened it. I was a bit disappointed that such a high quality calendar would have this type of error. Again, I loved the calendar, but not the way it was held together.
For years, I purchased Thomas Kincaid calendars and wanted something a little different. This one has interesting photos with a different theme each month. I chose not to look ahead and am pleasantly surprised each time we move to a new month. A real treasure for us "country folk."
